Good morning! I’m John, Development Manager at Master Provisions, bringing you the Good News from this past month.
Thank you to those of you who made it to our MPower Lunch! We had a great day laughing together and making a positive impact in our community. We also shared a virtual hard hat tour of the new facility at that event. If you missed it and want to see how things are coming along at our expanded distribution center over on Toebben Drive, scan the code on your screen to check out that video!

This month has brought some impactful food donations to our distribution center. We are so thankful to Castellini Company for their large product donations including 93 pallets of fresh tomatoes and peppers. Carusso sent a truckload of fresh produce, and another partner donated roast beef and hot dogs to ensure people get the protein they need. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of organizations like these working to eliminate waste and get as many people fed as possible, so THANK YOU!

We have also had wonderful volunteers serving with us throughout October, including great groups of students from Thomas More University and McNicholas High School. If you have students that need service hours, we love hosting the next generation of leaders at Master Provisions! We offer Student Days the first and third Tuesday of every month, and we regularly welcome corporate and school groups. Head to masterprovisions.org/volunteer to sign up to serve.

Lastly, we launched our MPact Makers program this month. Hunger is closer to home than many of us realize. Did you know that 1 in 7 people in the tristate don’t have enough to eat? With concerns around reduced food benefits and government assistance this month, we expect that number to continue to increase. YOU can help change that. Be the reason someone eats tonight and every night by joining this community of people committed to feeding their hungry neighbors.

Just $24 each month provides nearly 1000 meals each year to hungry kids, parents, and seniors in our community. And thanks to a generous matching gift, the first 200 founding members will feed twice as many people the first month they give! Master Provisions doesn’t receive government funding. We rely on people like you to ensure we continue to provide food for today and hope for tomorrow to neighbors in need. Thank you for caring enough to help!

As we all work through uncertainty and worry over the next few months, I encourage us to remember this:

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

Let us not allow ourselves to be further divided. Let’s come together, find solutions, care for each other, and trust God to provide what we need. If we take it one day at a time and focus on reflecting Christ’s love to all, God assures us that He can and will take care of the rest. In Psalm 146:7, we are reminded that “He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.” God takes an active role in caring for those in need, and so should we. Join us in praying for our neighbors and our nation as we collectively work to feed the hungry and support one another.

Thanks for watching. We hope to see you around Master Provisions soon!
