In 2023, Master Provisions (MP) launched His Heroes. The goal of this program is to give individuals with disabilities the chance to learn a variety of life and social skills while volunteering in our distribution center. We currently partner with 14 different schools and organizations to serve individuals with special needs.
MP aims to create an environment that is conducive and safe for individuals with disabilities to learn and grow with our other volunteers. Several local school special education programs currently bring students in to get exposure to the warehouse and work on skills that would be good for potential employment while also giving back to the community. We also partner with behavioral health organizations and provide a place to bring their adult clients to volunteer.
Master Provisions also has a His Heroes internship program. This allows an individual to work with us on a weekly basis, while learning appropriate skills for a job after the internship. MP assists with interview prep, office skills training, as well as training for warehouse work, depending on the individual’s desired job post-internship. Internship candidates need to be able to serve independent of a care aide.
MP offers a place where individuals with disabilities can learn and grow in a workplace-type environment. We organize daily projects that focus on different skills, and we can tailor projects to individual needs based on project availability. Individuals work with other volunteers to practice communication and social skills while contributing to the mission of MP.
