Good morning!

I’m John, the Development Manager at Master Provisions. April has been a big month here at MP with lots of exciting news. To start, we hired Abby as another Operations Assistant. She will be supporting our Ops Team as well as investing lots of time and energy into our His Heroes program. Next time you stop by the Food Center, pop in to say hello to Abby and her service dog, Scarletta!

We continue to see exciting progress made at the site of our new building on Toebben Drive. Steel and rebar have been delivered. We anticipate footers being poured as soon as the ground is dry enough (any day now), so stay tuned!

We also have some big thank yous to make this month. First, during the entire month of April, ACE Hardware of Independence is running their annual roundup promotion to benefit Master Provisions. Nothing Bundt Cakes is celebrating their 6th birthday with a Master Provisions benefit day on Friday, May 2nd. 20% of their sales that day will support our mission to serve people in need – thank you, Nothing Bundt Cakes!

Master Provisions is honored to receive a $60,000 grant from the Jacob G. Schmidlapp Trust, Fifth Third Bank, N.A., Trustee. This generous funding will provide for equipment needs and support our efforts to reduce food waste and fight food insecurity in the Greater Cincinnati region. Thank you!

We also received nearly $50,000 in grant funding from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation. These funds will be used to build the technical framework for expanded outreach in our new facility. Thank you to the Haile Foundation for their generosity toward our mission!

Join us for a casual Open House to celebrate our founder Roger’s official retirement from Master Provisions. Enjoy light refreshments and cake as we bid farewell and honor all that God has accomplished through Roger during his time at MP. Come help us celebrate!

I just returned from a bible and church history tour in Italy. I’ve also done them in Israel, Turkey, and Greece. When I do these tours, the one thing I continually see from history meeting scripture is that God’s hand truly is in everything. Even when things seem at their worst, not just in our personal lives, but as a community or country, God has a plan and he’s working that plan for His good. It’s our job to be obedient to what he calls us to do. He is the God of the Mountain and the God of the Valley, and He is our provider in both places. He works all things for the good of those who love Him. What is He calling you to today? How is He providing in your life?

Thanks for following along with us. We hope to see you around Master Provisions soon!
