Hey guys!
I’m Greta, and if we haven’t met, I’m on the marketing and development team here at Master Provisions. February has been a busy month with lots of good news to share!
If you haven’t seen it yet, our annual MPact Report came out a few weeks ago. It is a quick snapshot of the work God has been doing at MP in the past year. In 2024, we got to redistribute 2.6 million pounds of high-quality food that was mis-packaged or overproduced and would have otherwise gone to waste. Because of our collaborative approach with other nonprofit partners, over 76,000 people in the tristate received food from Master Provisions each month last year! Our 600th container of supplies was sent internationally in 2024, and last year alone, volunteers served more than 15, 500 hours. That’s equivalent to 7 and a half full time positions!
Many of our partners are also doing their own annual impact reports. One agency – the Larry H Spears Foundation based in Dry Ridge – let us that they served over 18,700 meals in 2024! The population of Dry Ridge is around 2,200 people, so they are reaching people far beyond their immediate community. We have been blessed with incredible volunteers this month. In addition to our weekly volunteers who make everything we do here possible, we have had some great groups serve with us.
Pilots for Christ came out and took another box truck full of clothing to North Carolina to support Hurricane Helene victims, and Methodist Mountain Mission picked up 179 bags of winter clothing to distribute in Eastern Kentucky. Life Learning Center sent over 40 volunteers to serve at the second Saturday pack, and The Point Arc is sending a group of students twice a week all month long. Before I let you go, this Friday is Valentine’s Day. A day that is set apart traditionally to celebrate love. I think you all know where I’m going with this. There is no greater love to celebrate than the love our God has for us. Romans 5:8 tells us this: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
So, go celebrate! Celebrate a God who loves you, sent his son to die for you, and is preparing a place for you to be with him.
