Good News - October 2024 - Master Provisions

Hey everyone!

If we haven’t met, I’m Kristi, the Volunteer and Agency Coordinator over at Master Provisions. I get to share a glimpse of the work that’s been happening around the food center this month.

Fox Creek Christian and Kenwood Heights are long-term church partners of ours. Both did large clothing packs with us this month. Some of their work benefited our international partners, but many of the bags they processed were picked up by Pilots for Christ who flew the clothing down to North Carolina to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene. If you want to support disaster relief for people in need due to the recent hurricanes, connect with our friends at Matthew 25 Ministries and Ides to see how you can help.

God has blessed us with many food donations this month, so thank you to the many organizations that have been a part of that! We had Lakeside Christian Church on site to pack boxes for outreach this month. Those boxes will benefit Isaiah House Ministries’ mobile food pantries in Ludlow and Covington to serve about 400 families each month.

In other exciting news, we continue to have tons of students serving with us through school groups, 2nd Saturday Packs, and Student Days on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. If you have a student looking for service hours, we would love to host them from 3-5pm on Student Days. Have them sign up on our website to let us know they’re coming!

We have our 11th annual MPower Lunch coming up, and we would love to see you there! It’s this Monday, October 21st at 11:30 am at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center. EVERYONE is invited! Today (Thursday 10/17) is your LAST chance to get a delicious FREE lunch and hear all about the work God has been doing through Master Provisions this year. You’ll be able to network, be encouraged, and make a difference. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate what’s been done and dream about what is to come! Let us know you’re coming by RSVPing here.

Many of you may have seen that Master Provisions is in the running for Greater Cincinnati Nonprofit of the Year! You can vote once per day from now until November 1st at this link. Find us in the “Basic Needs” category listed under Food Banks & Food Distribution. Thanks for your support!

Lastly, if you do nothing else today, join our monthly recurring gift program called 1994 Connects. Just $19.94 a month can help up to 100 of your neighbors. Join today by clicking the button below. You will be blessed beyond measure knowing you helped a family in need with a simple, yet significant, monthly gift.

One last thing – let me share a bit of encouragement from a verse the MP staff highlighted this week. This week, we are studying Romans 12:1-2 as a staff. It says,

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

As a living sacrifice, we are called to give all of ourselves to Him through the way we carry ourselves, treat each other, serve and love one another. It’s not just about going to church or praying for our dinner. It’s about a life of worship through our personal sacrifice. Sometimes sacrificing our own personal time or going out of our comfort zone for something bigger is part of it. I am so thankful for all of the volunteers from the youth to some that are a little older than me. They show me, leading by example, the value in coming and worshiping with us through their joyful sacrifice of time for others.

We are so grateful for your continued support and prayers for Master Provisions. We really hope to see you around MP soon!
