Jim McCarville

Jim McCarville is an experienced healthcare leader with over 35 years leading process improvement and resource utilization efforts in over 150 hospitals throughout his career. Jim has responsibility for the Quality Division operations at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY. Jim and his team lead Patient Safety, Accreditation, Infection control, Quality Analytics, Patient Experience, and Quality Improvement efforts across 5 hospital campuses and1 freestanding Emergency clinic.

Prior to joining St. Elizabeth, Jim held leadership roles with Catholic Health Initiatives, Kronos, and Sarasota Memorial Hospital. For 5 years at CHI, Jim led the performance improvement functions for 9 hospitals across 4 states. Jim helped CHI establish their national Clinical and Process Excellence program to systematically address clinical and operational improvements. At Kronos, Jim worked for 10 years in their Labor Analytics division and led implementations of their labor management software to many large healthcare systems across the U.S. He was credited with designing new software applications that added notable increases to sales. During his 14 years at Sarasota Memorial, Jim directed the management engineering function including resource utilization, process improvement, technology assessment, and decision Support.

Jim graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. He received his M.B.A. from the University of South Florida. Jim also holds a black belt level certification in Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies. Jim is a Fellow in the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (FHIMSS) and a Diplomat in the Society of Health Systems (DSHS) Engineering.
